A collection of 16 precious artifacts called the Morgantina Treasure was discovered, these unique pieces belong to the beautiful Sicilian culture. These pieces date back to the 3rd century B.C. and are theorized to have belonged to the site of the ancient settlement of Morgantina between 1978 - 1981. Currently these pieces are being displayed at the Archaeological Museum of Aidone. In an conjoined effort to preserve these priceless treasures the Aidone Museum, Polytechnic School of the University of Palermo, and the Regional Ministry of Culture and Sicilian Identity decided to create 3D scans of these findings.
