The latest acquisition for our measurement services group is the LEICA GEOSYSTEMS laser tracker equipped with T-Probe and the amazing T-Scan System. The new technology allows us to measure any size work piece with "walk around" wireless technology.

With measuring ranges of up to 40M we are able to bring accuracy and the capability of PC-DMIS to the shop floor.  Our Quality Team believes that this equipment provides superior accuracy than a large CMM.  With the T-Probe parts of great complexity can now be measured easily and quickly.  Not only can large components be measured on site eliminating costly transportation we are also able to verify the parts during the machining process.  Thus enabling swift just in time shipment of larges pieces, without costly material handling issues previously encountered.

INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE & MACHINE BUILDING AND SET UP

CMM can now help in the process of machine tool set up and repair.  Performance of all machine parameters for build can be monitored and reported to the maintenance crew real time.  Robots can now be tracked and compensation applied to the control.  This capability not only allows for fast robot task changeover, but also ultra accurate positioning.  An entire host of geometric parameters can be monitored and reported upon.  These include level, flatness, parallelism, squareness, alignment, concentricity runout perpendicularity all of course with the added bonus of position in free space.

ASSEMBLY LINES, FIXTURING & JIGS

With a measurement rate of 3000 points per second we are able to dimensionally monitor the activities within an assembly process.  Also during the build process we can ensure all geometric variances are kept to a minimum and the line is dimensionally correct.  By use of this equipment and our on staff millwrights we can cut your build and assembly time down dramatically!

ALIGNMENT AND BUILD

 Whether you're installing and connecting large shafts, mating giant size components together or involved in the assembly of large and awkward turbine or rotary devices our measurement services department can help you do this efficiently, accurately and quickly.  We are even able to do virtual assemblies before the components are assembled!

LASER SCANNING

With our measurement capabilities already very formidable it is difficult to envision our very latest ability - complete non-contact scanning.  We can gather meaningful data and analysis for you at your site.  Forgings, dies, tooling fixtures, parts, automotive bodies and trim, aircraft of all types, cars, buses trains etc…can all be partially or wholly scanned.

CAD COMPARISON

All our data can be given to you in text or graphic format picturing the cad nominal and active data.  All features can be measured and graphically related to the nominal model.  Best fit algorithms can be used to optimize feature location and coordinate systems.

REVERSE ENGINEERING

If CAD data is not available we can probe or scan any component and hand you back the complete CAD file in several different formats.   We are able to supply data in many different formats: point cloud, IGES, STL or Surfaced depending on your requirements.
