Some Highlights of the changes
Cad Assembly management
Do you work with large complex CAD models or assemblies? PC-Dmis 2009s' new CAD assembly manager helps you organize and view only the critical components of your assembly. You can even create your own assemblies by breaking complex CAD models into individual components. Large cumbersome CAD files now become manageable.

Protect mode for part programs
Do you work in an environment were many people are running your part programs? Do you wish to protect these part programs from un-authorized changes? A new menu item in PC-Dmis 2009 allows you to do just that. You now may protect and unprotect part programs with a password. Once protected, part programs are unable to be changed or even saved without the use of the password! All menus or dialogs pertinent to programming or editing of a part program are hidden or disabled.
Mouse position in CAD coordinates
Ever needed to quickly know the X, Y or Z value at a position on your CAD model. A new tool bar menu item allows you to do precisely that. Select the "Screen counters" icon from the "Graphics Modes" tool bar and PC-Dmis 2009 will project the position of the mouse cursor onto the nearest CAD surface and display the coordinates in the upper right corner of the graphics window.

Section Cut Scans
This entirely new scan type allows you to easily cut a section through your CAD model and generate points along that section. The dialog gives full control over the placement of the section cut and the density of points generated.

Quicker editing of features from the graphics window
Tired of searching through your edit window for the correct line of code to match the feature you wish too edit? PC-Dmis 2009 now allows you to edit a feature by right mouse clicking on the feature and selecting "Edit" from the context menu. This behaves the same as locating the feature in the edit window and selecting the F9 key.

Support for the JT CAD format
Is your company an early adopter of the JT CAD open file format? Do you supply parts to customers who use JT CAD files. PC-Dmis 2009 now supports this file format. It will be interesting to see if this new "Open file format" concept will eventually replace the IGES and STEP we have become so accustomed too using.
