HIGH SPEED SCANNING WITH BROWN & SHARPE GLOBAL'S AND PC-DMIS BLADE RUNNER AT HPG INC.
HPG Inc. located in Oakville Ontario manufactures precision turbine components using State-of-the-art-equipment. HPG's team of highly skilled professionals utilizing the latest in manufacturing and inspection equipment, software applications and machining techniques makes HPG one of the premier industry suppliers in the world today.
In 2002 HPG Inc. purchased its first Brown & Sharpe Global Coordinate Measuring Machine. This flexible gaging system is the most advanced package available that provides the combined performance of accuracy and speed. So successful was this equipment at rapid and accurate blade analysis and inspection that in 2007 HPG purchased a second Global CMM. Both CMM's are configured with the Renishaw SP600 High Speed Analogue Sensing Probe enabling high speed scanning at 300mm/s and fast point measurement when required. This combined with the SP600's awesome accuracy allows versatile 5 axis scanning utilizing the Renishaw PH10MQ 2 axis Robotic Probe Head. Both CMM's are equipped with PC-DMIS, the world's most advanced and most popular metrology software in conjunction with PC-DMIS BLADE software. This software was developed in collaboration with the worlds largest blade manufacturers and has become a standard. It's easy to read graphical reports enable quick and consistent information for the shop floor. Variable algorithms enable all manufacturers' processes to be emulated and reported on. All this combined with the outstanding ability to scan a 2" airfoil section in 20 seconds makes it an indispensable tool for HPG as well as adding value to their manufacturing processes.
Trevor Fulop HPG's Vice President of Sales and Marketing maintains that HPG has stayed ahead of its competitors and has become a market leader in the supply of turbine components due to their relentless pursuit of technological solutions for manufacturing and inspection.
